Menopause Symptoms - Muscle Tension
What causes Muscle Tension during Menopause?
Estrogen acts as a regulator of muscle energy metabolism and muscle cell viability. During menopause the fluctuation of estrogen, together with progesterone, leads to the deterioration of muscle function and therefore causes excess muscle tension and leads to fatigue. The lowering of estrogen increases your cortisol levels, which can in turn create more muscle tension.
